Authentic birria tacos, tamales and burritos!! If you're in the area, this is the spot you need to stop and visit. We ordered both the chorizo and bacon burritos which had high quality meat. We also had the birria tacos which were the best I've had in a very long time. While we were eating, we noticed the ladies in the back were making fresh tamales. Yum!! Alejandra, the owner, was so kind and made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend this place!!
Fresh breakfast burritos served up to order. Quick self order kiosk with card payment. You can watch as they prep and serve you right away. Breakfast burrito with your choice of sausage or chorizo. Eggs and potato filler with flour shell $3.99 each. Add cheese for $1. Chorizo definitely has more flavor than sausage, and was super tasty!
Am I willing to say best breakfast burritos in town? Yes. Yes I am. A must grab whenever you are waiting for your coffee!
I went here for breakfast while visiting the nearby farmers market. The long line indicates the place has food worth waiting for. I decided I wanted a small bite since I was having lunch later and got one taco. BIG MISTAKE- you need two or more, so I returned for a second. This place is the real deal and one of the most delicious breakfast tacos ever. I can't wait to return and try the tamales and other items.
Red kitchen tamales is located inside Lenexa market place. Simple menu. Not much to chose from. On the night we were there, it was street taco and guacamole chips. Orders are placed from the kiosk. Alcohol drinks you order at the counter. Lots of fun drinks to chose from. An order of taco was $3.99 with two corn tortillas. I had two orders of it and it was great. But I really didn't feel full from that as a dinner meal. A couple of hours I had to order something else to snack on. The margarita drinks was fabulous. Great location to visit with live music on Friday night during the summer.
Red kitchen tamales is located at the Lenexa Towne Center "food court quote area. This is located underneath the park university. Depending on when you arrive, there's ample street parking as well as a parking garage. We stopped in on a Friday evening to enjoy a quick bite and a couple of margaritas. The margaritas were expertly crafted, and tasted fantastic with an house mix and agave! We had chips and salsa, as well as beef and pork street tacos. At the end of the bar sauces, etc. to finish off your free taco. Surprisingly, this is a very lively location on the weekends. Friday nights they bring in music and people come from all around to try the various restaurants and enjoy the outside music. One of the best parts about eating at red kitchen tamale is that it's a family business and the owner is actually working every day to make herdream come true.
Great experience & flavor! Only tried one, chorizo breakfast taco since I was sampling various spots following my farmer's market haul. Service was 11/10, super friendly and knowledgeable about the smaller-sized but flavor-packed menu! The breakfast taco was a little pricy for its size but SO SO YUMMY! Those waiting in line with me echoed my sentiments and said they have tried multiple menu items and never been disappointed!
This was my first experience at the Lenexa Public Market and today is Tuesday, so we went for tacos! This place is a family-owned business, and from what it seemed, the whole family helped out which was nice to witness :). In terms of flavor, I was very impressed! Unfortunately we didn't get to taste all of the different tacos, breakfast burritos or tamales, but we did get the carne asada tacos and queso fondido. They have a selection of toppings and two sauces that were delicious! Their pickled onions were a very nice touch- adding the crunch and acidity to the overall taste. The meat was well seasoned. The queso fondido was also good! If you're lactose intolerant, like myself, your stomach may not like you...but worth. If you're at the Lenexa Public Market, I would highly recommend eating from here! I'm looking forward to trying more from here.
1 tostada and 1 quesadilla kids meal. Delicious! TOSTADAS FOR $8, 2 FOR $14 (But the day we went, it was $6 at lunch time!) - Flat hard-shell tortilla - Choose Chicken Tinga or Picadillo filling - Lettuce, tomato, avocado, crema, queso fresco - I got the Tinga: chicken and sauteed onions with spicy chipotle sauce. YUM!!! The tostada did not need any salsa or anything. It was perfect the way it was. (Alternate filling option: Picadillo. Ground beef, potatoes and carrots) The cashier was kind, friendly and patient. The meal prepper, however, seemed kind of annoyed that his 1 o'clock hour was interrupted by our presence. A bit of a shame, because the products were really tasty. We loved that part!
